The Nu. 48 million water supply scheme was funded 90% by DANIDA and rest by the royal government.
The works on the new water supply system was completed in June, this year. The new water supply system includes treatment plant, water pump at the source and water transmission lines. The new system is designed to last for the next two decades.
The Municipal Engineer, Sangay Tenzin, said that they have installed water metres in all houses connected with new water supply. This means that the residents will now have to pay for the water. In order to create awareness, the municipal will be issuing dummy bills for the next three months.
