Class XII results out

February 13, 2008: The Bhutan Board of Examination (BBE) will be declaring the class XII results today afternoon.

Bhuwan Giri, a science student of Mothithang Higher Secondary School, topped the class XII, Bhutan Higher Secondary Education Certificate Examination (BHSEC), with 88.75 percent.

Yogesh Mongar of Gelephu Higher Secondary school came second. He scored 88.25 percent.

With 85.50 percent, Chencho Lham, a commerce student of Drugyel Higher Secondary school stood third.

A news release from the BBE says a total of 5,027 sat for the examination in December last year. The nationwide pass percentage is 84.80 percent, 9.35 percent lower than last year.

Science stream saw the highest subject wise pass percentage with 95.73 percent. The lowest was in mathematics with 46.38 percent.

The results will be available at and from 3 pm today.

177 regular students of the Institute for Language and Cultural Studies (ILCS) in Simtokha also sat for the examination last year. 147 candidates have passed. 82 teacher candidates sat for the examination along with them. Of that 75 have passed.
