Chali gewog's NC candidate- Pema Tenzin

November 26: The people of Chali gewog under Monggar Dzongkhag have elected former General Secretary of the Bhutan Olympic Committee Pema Tenzin as their National Council candidate.

Pema Tenzin served as a civil servant for 31 years before resigning to contest the National Council election.

Officials led by Monggar Dzongdag Lhab Dorji were also present at the nomination meeting. They explained the role of the National Council and the difference between the National Council and the National Assembly.

They urged the people to elect a candidate who is qualified and can best serve the people and country. More than 400 people attended the meeting.

The people of Selambi gewog under Weringla Dungkhag have nominated 26 year old Cheki Dragpa as their National Council candidate. Cheki Dragpa is a recent LLB graduate from Pune.
