Burglary rampant in Changjiji housing complex

January 6: Residents of Changjiji say theft is rampant in the housing complex. They said many of them have lost money as well as other valuables.

Almost everyone in this area said they lost something, cash from shops, recharge vouchers and other goods. 30-years-old Komoli was one of the latest victims. She said this morning, she was standing outside her shop.

She said she did not see anybody enter her shop but minutes later when she went inside to serve a customer, she found her cash box empty. She had about Nu. 2,500 in the cash box.

Bidha, her next door neighbour recalls an incident that took place a few weeks ago. Changjiji has its own police centre.

A resident said about five policemen patrol the area. He said because of their presence, gang fights have gone down but burglary has gone up.
