Buddhist studies to be introduced in colleges and institutes
May 22: The Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) and Institute of Language and Cultural Studies (ILCS) are organizing a two day long seminar on Buddhist practices in Thailand and Bhutan.
The seminar is being conducted to introduce Buddhist studies in colleges and institutes in the kingdom.
Thai Scholars, officials from the RUB and lecturers and students from the ILCS are discussing Buddhist practices and impact of Buddhism on the people.
The Director of the ILCS Lungten Gyatsho said "The Royal University of Bhutan desired to have different centers established in different colleges and institutes across the Kingdom and for us, the university council thought we would be better home to establish a center for Buddhist studies because it is very much in line and relevant for ILCS."
Lungten Gyatsho said they will be holding discussions and seminars on Buddhism and invite international scholars give lectures on Buddhism.
