November 2: Coinciding with the 2nd anniversary of the Coronation of His Majesty the King, the Ministry of Education on behalf of National Steering Committee for Coronation Celebration launched two books titled, "Moments in time" and "Our King is Crowned". The books were launched by Her Royal Highness the Princess Ashi Sonam Dechan Wangchuck yesterday.

The "Moments in time" covers the pictorial biography of His Majesty the King. The other book, "Our King is Crowned" captures the journey from Lingkana till Punakha, actual crowning ceremony and the celebration at Changlimithang.

Addressing the gathering, Her Royal Highness Ashi Sonam Dechan Wangchuck said the day is an opportunity for the young and old alike to reflect on our past, to celebrate our present and look confidently to our future.“As a child I saw in His Majesty all the qualities that would make a great and a genuine leader,” said Her Royal Highness. His Majesty, Her Royal Highness said holds a pure and compassionate heart with the patience, wisdom and maturity beyond his years.

Also at the function, students from various schools in Thimphu spoke on the importance of the day. They highlighted on the uniqueness of Bhutan’s Monarchy. As a tribute to His Majesty, various cultural programmes were staged by the students. The Ministry of Education also displayed a short video clip to felicitate the Coronation celebration.
