August 2: The Bhutanese delegation arrived in Colombo in Sri Lanka for the 15th SAARC Summit early yesterday morning.
The delegation is led by the Prime Minister Lyonchen Jigmi Y. Thinley.
Upon arrival at the airport, they were received by the Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka Rohitha Bogollogama and other ministers from the host country.
The Foreign Minister of Bhutan Lyonpo Ugyen Tshering, the Ambassador of Bhutan to Sri Lanka Tshering Dorji, the Foreign Secretary Yeshey Dorji and other Bhutanese officials were also present at the reception.
They arrived in Colombo earlier to attend the Standing Committee and committee meetings.

Also yesterday morning, the Prime Minister Lyonchen Jigmi Y. Thinley made a courtesy call on the President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapakshe and other senior officials.
Following this, the Prime Minister also met with the Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe. The Prime Minister also met with the Bhutanese medical students studying in Sri Lanka.
The 15th SAARC Summit is scheduled to open tomorrow. Heads of states from other SAARC countries have also arrived here for the summit. |
