December 26: Bhutan-India border will be sealed from 6:00pm on December 30 to 6:00am on January 1.

A notification from the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs says this is being done to avoid law and order problems along the border during the upcoming National Council election.

This was decided during the recent Border District Coordination meeting between Bhutan and the Indian states of West Bengal and Assam.

It says travelers, voters, election officials, and candidates who are required to travel through India should reach their destination in Bhutan before 6:00pm on December 30.
