December 31: With the New Year just around the corner, there is a reason for B-mobile subscribers to smile.


You are using B-mobile to get in touch with a family member or a friend. You need to do so urgently. But the response you get is subscriber unreachable.

In desperation, you try the number again. The response this time is subscriber switched off.

Here is some good news for B-mobile users. B-mobile says this is a thing of the past. Now you will get through every time you make a call.

Tandin Wangchuk, the General Manager of Bhutan Telecom’s B-mobile division said they have installed more towers in Thimphu, Phuentsholing and Paro to solve the network congestion problem.

Bhutan Telecom has also introduced cellular-on-wheels, which can be driven to crowded places to prevent network congestion resulting from large gathering of people.

Apart from network congestion, Bhutan Telecom is also working to ease the problem which subscribers encounter when sending text messages outside Bhutan.

B-mobile users in and around the capital city said they are already feeling the improvement in the service.
