January 29: 20 armed force officers have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel today. 15 of the officers are from the Royal Bhutan Army, three are from the Royal Body Guard and two from the Royal Bhutan Police.

They received their promotion and Tashi Khadar from the Chief Operations Officer Major General Batoo Tshering at the Tashichhodzong this morning.

Following this, the officials visited the Goenkhang and offered prayers.

Meanwhile seven officers have been promoted to the rank of Major. Four are from RBA, one from RBG and the remaining two are from the RBP.

19 officers have been promoted as Captains. Of that 11 are from RBA and eight from RBP.
