March 14: The ambassador of Austria to Bhutan Dr. Ferdinand Maultaschl and ambassador of the Netherlands to Bhutan Bob Henry Hiensch presented their credentials to His Majesty the King today.
Ambassador Ferdinand Maultaschl and Bob Henry Hiensch were escorted in traditional chipdrel ceremony to the Tashichoedzong. They were then ushered into the throne room where they presented their credentials to His Majesty the King.
Ambassador Maultaschl joined the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1972. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he has served in various positions in the Austrian Foreign Ministry and missions abroad. Prior to his present appointment, he served as the head of protocol in the Ministry of European and International Affairs.
Ambassador Hiensch joined the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1976. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he has served in various positions in the Dutch foreign ministry and missions abroad. Prior to his present appointment, he served as the ambassador to Israel. Ambassador Hiensch also served in the Dutch army from 1968 to 1969. Following that he worked for the Royal Dutch Airlines KLM for three years.
The two ambassadors also called on the Prime Minister Lyonpo Kinzang Dorji this afternoon.
