Agriculture Ministry employ CNR graduates

July 23: Trainees who completed a two-year diploma course last month from the College of Natural Resources (CNR) in Lobesa have been employed by the Agriculture Ministry.

The trainees were anxious after the Ministry of Agriculture announced that they have to find employment elsewhere.

Traditionally the trainees from the College of Natural Resources were employed by the Agriculture Ministry soon after they complete their diploma course.

At the orientation program last Friday, all 61 trainees were recruited into Livestock, Forestry and Agriculture Departments of the agriculture ministry. Six were employed as inspectors with BAFRA. Four will be working with the Council for RNR Research.

The Agriculture Ministry’s Human Resource Officer Sangay Yanglay said after discussing the matter with the RCSC, they were able to recruit all the trainees because there is a need for extension officers in most geogs.

He said from next year, recruitment of graduates from the College of Natural Resources will depend on the demand.
