September 3: An accident this morning has killed five and left three more injured at Namling on the Bumthang-Monggar highway. The DCM truck was heading to Bumthang when the accident took place at around 10.30 am.

The five victims according to sources were killed on the spot when the DCM truck fell about 30 metres below the road. While rescue workers have been able to recover four of the bodies, they are still looking for one.

The other three injured are in critical condition. They are undergoing treatment at the Monggar Regional Referral hospital.

The cause of the accident is not known.
