May 26: A 42-year-old man has been killed in Tsirang when the scooter he was riding was hit by a passing truck.

The accident took place at Suntalay under Tsolingkhar geog at around 8: 30 pm on Friday, May 23. Suntalay is about four kilometers from Damphu town towards Sunkosh.

The Mangmi of Tsholingkhar who was riding pillion told the investigating team that the deceased was trying to overtake the truck when he lost balance causing the scooter to fall. He was run over by the rear wheel of the truck.

The Mangmi was thrown into the drain. The 27-year-old truck driver was apprehended only after reaching the Damphu BOD. He said he did not know about the accident. The deceased is survived by three children.
