A health engineer sent for compulsory retirement

September 3:
The Health Ministry has sent an engineer on compulsory retirement last month. He was found guilty of misusing government property. The Health Minister, Lyonpo Zangley Dukpa, said the ministry would not support those found guilty and would co-operate with the Anti-Corruption Commission to promote transparency.

The engineer who worked as the head of the maintenance unit of the National Referral Hospital was found guilty of using a construction machine belonging to the ministry at his own construction site.

He has also been asked to reimburse about Nu. 500,000 as hiring charge for the machine.

Meanwhile BBS tried to get the engineer’s views. He had no comments.
