December 11: The 66KV multi circuit transmission line at Pasakha has been completed. With this, the upcoming industrial estate in Pasakha will have access to reliable power supply.

The multi circuit transmission line, the first of its kind in the kingdom was inaugurated by the Economic Affairs Minister Lyonpo Khandu Wangchuk on Tuesday, December 9.

This is the largest power transmission and interconnecting substation in the kingdom. It will provide uninterrupted power supply to the new Pasakha industrial estate. The power will be supplied through Malbase and Singhigaon substations.

Speaking at the inauguration, Lyonpo Khandu Wangchuk said the Malbase substation will help to provide reliable and continuous power supply to the industrial estate in Pasakha and nearby areas like Phuentsholing and Gomtu.

He said in case there is a problem at Chhukha power plant, power can be supplied to Chhukha from Tala Power plant through the Malbase substation and vice versa. In instances of problems from Chhukha and Tala, power can be accessed from India through the Malbase substation.

The Malbase substation can now supply reliable power to eight industries which together consume about 180 megawatts of power.
