April 19: A 50-year-old woman from Zomlithang in Gelephu has died after she drowned in the Mao river.
Our reporter Sonam Rinchen says the body of the deceased was found on Thursday, April 17.
The husband of the deceased told our reporter that he had gone to Sarpang on April 12. When he returned home on April 15, he found his wife missing. Upon asking his neighbour he found that his wife was seen at Chaskar village.
When the deceased failed to return home after two days, the husband along with his neighbours went to search for her. They found her body floating in the river.
The husband told our reporter that his wife was an alocoholic and had epilepsy which probably could have caused her death. Police have ruled out foul play. |
