March 4: In Monggar, two men in their late twenties were killed on the spot on Sunday afternoon after their vehicle went off the road near Kurizampa, about four and half kilometers from Gyelposhing towards Monggar. The incident took place at around 3.30 pm.

According to the police, the two men were on their way to Lingmethang. The accident has been attributed to over-speeding. Police are investigating to confirm the cause of the accident.

The bodies of the two men have been handed over to their relatives by police. In another accident, a 45-year-old man died after the truck he was traveling in went off the road near Pugli in Gomtu, Samtse. The accident took place at around 5 pm on Sunday.

There were 14 people in the truck. Except for the 45 year old man who died in the accident, everybody escaped with minor injuries.

Police said the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The case is under investigation.
