September 11: Bumthang Dzongkhag court has sentenced two men involved in a scooter hit and run case. The two were also charged for possession of explosives.

The rider has been sentenced for three years while the pillion rider was given a four months sentence. The verdict was passed last Tuesday. The pillion rider was released after paying Nu. 8,100 in lieu of the sentence.

They hit a 20-year-old woman with their scooter at Chamkhar in June. The woman lodged a complaint with police.

The two men denied being involved in the hit and run accident. However the key of the scooter which was involved in the accident was found with them.

The scooter was found parked at Badpala. On searching the scooter, some explosives and detonators were also found.

Meanwhile in another incident police have also arrested two other men for illegal possession of explosives. The case has been forwarded to the court.
