October 28: A 19-year-old boy has committed suicide in Phuentsholing. The boy - a class 11 student of Phuentsholing Higher Secondary School - had apparently hung himself from the mount used to hold a ceiling fan.

Our reporter Tenzin Wangda says the boy used to stay alone as a day scholar at the CHPC colony near Phuentsholing town.

The case was reported to police at around 6:00pm on 24th of this month.

That day a friend of the boy had gone to see him at his place. The friend knocked on the door several times. When there was no answer, he tried peeping inside through the window. He saw the boy hanging and immediately called the neighbors.

It is not clear why the boy committed suicide. Medical report showed that there was no foul play involved.
