September 7: A 27-year-old woman died when the tipper truck she was travelling in went off the road and plunged into the Pa Chu yesterday afternoon. Her body was found earlier today at the dam site of Chhukha Hydro Power Corporation Limited.

September 6: Bhutan stepped into call centre business in 2007. But right from the start, the path has been fraught with numerous obstacles. Almost four years on, the situation hasn’t changed much. The Computer and Management Institute (CMI) Call Centre, one of the two call centres in operation in the country, says it is struggling to stay afloat. The CMI call centre was established in December 2008.

September 6: Both print and broadcast media play an important role in developing dzongkha language. However, with many media houses coming up in recent years, there has not been consistency in the use of Dzongkha language.

But taxi drivers in Phuentsholing are giving a second thought on keeping fire extinguishers in their taxis. The apprehension comes after a fire extinguisher in one of the taxis exploded yesterday.

September 4: It was the first of its kind to be held in Bhutan- a bicycle race from Bumthang to Thimphu. Twenty three Bhutanese including a lady participated in the “Tour of The Dragon” race. The riders had to cross 4 mountain passes, all over 3,000 metres above sea level. The distance covered was almost 270 kilometres.
